Kingdom Living Classes
Throughout the year, we offer classes on
Thursday evenings that are intended to help people learn to live in the
fullness of what Jesus intends for them. Some of the classes are
informational, some are practical, and others are intensely spiritual.
Classes are offered on a variety of topics in order to help people live
the kingdom life in all its aspects.

What is Kingdom Living?
|

|
When we become Christians, we are invited to live in the kingdom of God,
within the range of His rule and reign. The kingdom is the place where
God's will is done and we live in the glorious benefits of His perfect
intentions toward us. We receive forgiveness for our sins and are
reconciled into relationship with God. But forgiveness and
justification is the beginning of Christian life not the end of it.
Living under God's kingdom is where His grace begins to come to us and
we begin to receive new life from above. We begin to be transformed
into the image of Jesus. This has been called "discipleship",
"spiritual formation" or "sanctification".
Many view Christianity as defining what you should or shouldn't do and
how you should look. Obeying a set of rules that make me look like a
"christian" is not Jesus' intent for us at all. Jesus modeled a beauty
of character and a style of life that He also offers to us. Through
Jesus, we can become the same sort of person He was from the inside
out. We begin to think about things the way Jesus did, behave the way
Jesus did, and do the things He did. Discipleship is learning how to
expose ourselves to the channels of God's grace that will transform us
into the person He intends.
Vineyard Kingdom Living is all about providing venues for God's grace to
transform us into Jesus' image and empower us to live the life He did
and do the things He did. There are two components to this:
-
Wholeness = Living the Life of Jesus: Jesus came to enable us
to live the abundant life. His grace extends healing to us, binds up
our wounds and causes our inner selves to reflect His character. As we
begin to heal, we stop trying to protect ourselves and we no longer
strive to get what is "rightfully ours" and we begin to be able to
engage in healthy relationships with others. Once we are satisfied
fully in God and His provision for our needs, the focus moves off
ourselves and we begin to reach out to others.
-
Fullness = Doing the things Jesus did: God intends for us to
live life with skill and excellence. Biblical principles for finances,
relationships and kingdom ministry are not rules to be followed. They
are natural manifestations of a whole and healthy life lived in
connection with God's grace. As we walk with Him, God provides us with
venues to learn and grow in all areas of life so that we may be
complete, lacking nothing. This includes growing in our ability to
serve and minister.
